Adobe Acrobat Slow Loading – August 19, 2004
A reasonable default is to leave ewh32.api, search.api, and reflow.api in your plugins directory, and move everything else into the optional folder.
You can make a disabled_plugins directory if you want them to be really gone.

I found a utility to fix it.
I have done the same with Acrobat 8.0 which vastley improves the loading, but I has an annoying delay on scrolling. Adobe support say they don;t experience this but I've seen it on 3 different machines.
Basically the 1st scroll movement has about a 1/2 second delay, after that it's ok. If you then wait a secound, or two the 1st movement is delayed again.
There's also a delay in displaying the open document when toggling between Acrobat & another window. It's tha actual document window that is delayed & not the whole of the application window.
Does anyone have any suggestions???
Do you have "smooth scrolling" turned on in Internet Explorer? I always turn that off, as it causes delays when scrolling in various applications.
Hi,
I had the same problem with delayed scrolling and followed jondaley's suggestion to turn of "use smooth scrolling" in IE. It worked! Now Adobe Acrobat scrolls with no delay. Thanks!
Here's a link showing where the "use smooth scrolling" option can be turned on/off in IE:

I personally despise how it constantly creates a "My eBooks" folder on load. Deleting ebook.api solves that problem, too!
