ok, but we already have lots of other things in the templates that break
things when messed with...

yes, but the other way round is true, too.

maybe, but I don't think this one changes a lot. Your commit broke quite
a few templates, though, I suppose...

at least updateing plugins and templates shouldn't be a priority or
something that holds us back from publishing new releases. I think we're
doing well the way we do now. I have one suggestion though:
we could have a permanent contest (votes, ratings, whatever) to nominate
the top 20 plugins and templates and only focusing on them. this would
help ensure the quality of the most requested templates/plugins and
leave the rest up to the contributors. a very easy top 20 list would be
the top 20 downloads from sf.net...

btw: the misc/commentform.template is not there after an svn update, did
you commit it?
