After read those articles,I think there are two things we can do

1. We really need a road map ...:P , buddy list, different user level are
small issues, I think we need more rough but overall converage. We can set
our goal of eah major release, for example:
pLog 1.1 is for admin rewite and performance improvements --> Goal is
performance
pLog 1.2 is for More social software function support (buddy list and tag)
--> Goal is Social
pLog 2.0 is for more commercial support (different user level support -
free, basic, pro users ...) --> Goal is commercial

Just like this....

2. Most of us are familiar with coding ... But user doesn't ...
Our template system is good. Actutally, I can do a lof of things with
template and no need to code anything .... But user does not familiar with
coding, that's why they feel hesitate with smarty ...

You will be wonder MT / WordPress 's templateing system is worse the smarty,
why user still say MT and WordPress template editing eaiser then pLog ....
It is because most user who can host MT and Wordpress are like us, they
familiar with coding ...

But those who host pLog for his friend or families, they may familier with
coding, but their users don't ... That;s why they always complains to us
smarty is no such easy for user ...

I have a suggestions..

Maybe we can separate our template to two level as I suggest in forums
- Templates (layout) ... As current template sets
- Theme (css)

Then, site owner can decide let user edit templates or themes ...

Any ideas...

Mark
