 	Ah, that's the trouble - you can't have blank custom URLs - they 
will be matched every time.  I'll add in a check that forces the custom 
URLs to contain something.  "/$" is a good default for the blog URL, since 
that only matches a slash, and nothing else, so works well in the case you 
are talking about (which is how I run my installations too).
