[pLog-svn] memory usage

I had an outage today... It was caused by a small lifetype site
(but one that spammers have found, and so there are thousands of comments
on a bunch of posts).

I had the memory limit for php set too high (64 meg) and the number of
client processes per server for apache set kind of high, and so all of the
ram and swap space were used up, and crashed the entire server.

I have lowered the settings, so now the post pages with lots of comments
simply die and show a blank page, rather than crash my server, but we
probably need to figure out a better way to manage memory in that
situation. It seems like we either do paging of the comments, and then
every template has to be updated, or else somehow not get all of the
comment data at one time, but only get one at a time or something.
