I assume you're using TinyMCE (the visual editor of posts) to edit  
posts, right?

If so, can you do us a favour and post the contents of the pop-up  
window that appears when you click the "HTML" button in the editor's  
toolbar? Also, can you check the contents of your Apache's error log  
when this problem happens in case there is any error?

Is this installation in a public server? I mean, could we access it?  
That could help.
