No. This is intended to be used with the subdomain_base_url set to "http://{blogdomain}" which means lifetype wouldn't know which blog to go to if they shared the same custom_domain field.
I am not sure of a use-case where you would want to be able to use the same domain.
Note, one user could have a custom_domain set to blog1.limedaley.com, and another guy could have blog2.limedaley.com. Maybe that is what you mean. The admin sets what "main" domains are allowed (or a wildcard) and then the blogowner can pick the subdomain name (or the full domain if the admin has allowed wildcards)
