If it depends on me, we are not going to change our template engine
anytime soon. We've invested a lot of time in developing smarty
templates and more important, in getting people used to the way smarty
works. In my opinion replacing smarty with something else now would be
counterproductive and besides, we've already got enough work with
other things :)

If you wish to implement this new template engine, it is as easy as
replacing the code in the Template class and probably TemplateService
too. No other changes should be required.

Just keep in mind that we are not going to support these customizations...
