I think CC is not a good idea. :(

Becsaue CC is for publishing not for program. But, I still want to restrict
the plugin usage, maybe I can add a sub-license, like:

Plugin: Hotlink Prevention
Author: Mark Wu
License: GPL V2
Restriction: CAN'T USE THIS PLUGIN IN COMMERCIAL PURPOSE OR ENVIRONMENT. If
you want to use this plugin in commercial purpose or environment, just
donate US$ 20 to pLog team. I'll grant the permission to you after pLog team
get the donation.
Release Date: 2005/08/04
Version: 1.0

How do you think?

commercial purpose here means:
1. Your use need to pay you money to use your blog service, then you should
got permission from me
2. You boundle this plugin into book/magzine CD
3. You sell it to your customer
4. Not limit to I list above

Is this doable? or violate with GNU GPL?

Mark

Subject: [Discussion] About the sub-license/re-license to plog plugins

Hi all:

I know we can not re-license or sub-license the plugin if the core program
is under GPL v2. But I still want to do that ...

I will release a new plugin "Hotlink Prevention", this plugin can protect
your resource and prevent hotlink. And this plugin has two control panel,
first one is for site owner, he can setup the global settings, and he also
can allow user to set his own settings... The second is for blog owner, he
can set his own configuration if site owner allow him to do that ...

You can test this plugin under http://dev.plogworld.org.tw/admin.php
user name: hotlink
password: hotlink

And, I want to sublicense this plugin as CC-NC-SA license , you can find the
full license here: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/deed.en

Of course, user can use it in commercial site, only if he donate $20 to pLog
project, I will give him the permission. How do you think?

Mark
