As you said, this would turn plog into yet another gallery script with
blogging capabilities. I don't see this as a very important feature
anyway...

Easy. This can be easily done in 1.1 :) I can take care of it if
needed...
> 3. Tree structure article category (multi-layer article categary)
The problem with this is that it complicates categories a bit. Imagine
the following category structure:
A
|--- B
|--- C
(please forgive my ASCII art :))
If an article is assigned to category 'C', is it also automatically
assigned to 'A' anb 'B' because they have a parent relationship?
How about permalinks? If post 'whatever' belongs to category 'C',
should the permalink be like
http://host.com/blog/my_blog/post/A/B/C/whatever
or
http://host.com/blog/my_blog/post/C/whatever
?
Whenever people ask things like this, it feels like they haven't been
thinking about all the implications and side effects... :P
> 4. Tag Support for every object (article, link, resource )
Not in 1.1, it would take a long time to add support for tags (even
though I like it!) so I am really not willing to do it for 1.1. Perhaps
1.2 or 2.0?
> 5. different User level
There we go again with people trying to take us the CMS route. pLog is
*not* a CMS, we do just blogging and we try to keep it very simple. If
people need advanced features such as user groups, different
customizable user levels, perhaps what they need is not a blogging tool
but a fully-featured CMS.
