Yeah I know plog can be a CMS.  That’s actually why I got into it back
when I did.  It has the basics of a CMS.  But any talk about CMS and
plog was usually not encouraged... and that’s fine.  Plugin framework
indeed can help expand plog.. blah blah... I know.  Publishing engines,
I know. Etcetera.

But, I enjoy drupal's 'everything is a node' concept.  Drupal is
terrific, no question.

I think you can really. Drupal and plog do the same thing, they publish
content. Blogs are meant to be a bit more personal in that respect but
words are words. I think with plugins, basicaly the same concept that
drupal has, plog could eventually be a full CMS, but I don't think it
would be wise nor the plan to go that route.

Note: One thing that I liked about druapl that was pretty nifty was the
ability to perform the install from the command line. I'm using mysql
4.1-gamma which isn't too friendly with standard php libs. Instead of
downgrading my system its easier to do a manual install. The installer
script doesn't seem to pick up during the install but does for regular
usage. Anyone think about making a perl script installer? Or even
something simpler thats command line driven?

I've recently taken a look at drupal as well. What I find when comparing
plog to drupal is that drupal uses maybe 10% of the resources when
displaying posts. This is a big concern to me because my site is
starting to pull 5000+ hits a day and on busy days I might even get 7 or
8 thousand. The drupal CMS leaves a relatively low footprint on my
system and has some interesting features like paging and the abbility to
throttle modules during high load.

Drupal also has the ability to have books, articles linked to each
other, and thats also had my eye for a while now.

I've been noticing, I think I'm going convince my mom to go with plog
1.0 for her organization website.
